Getting to UBC
From the Airport (YVR)
Public Transit — To travel to UBC from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) by public transit, take the Canada Line skytrain from the airport heading eastbound towards “Waterfront” station. Get off the skytrain at the “Broadway – City Hall” station and transfer to the #99 UBC bus (westbound) on Broadway at Cambie Street (across the street from the skytrain station). Alternatively, you can get off the Canada Line skytrain at “Oakridge” station and transfer to the #41 UBC bus, which can be caught on W 41st Avenue at Ash Street. Total travel time is approximately 50 minutes and costs $9.10 per adult for either route. To view the bus and Canada line schedules, click here.
Cab — The airport is serviced by 500 licensed taxis 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Taxis will be queued outside of the domestic and international arrival gates on Level 2. The approximate fare for travel to downtown Vancouver or to UBC from the airport is approximately $50, including taxes.
From the Train/Bus Station
If you are arriving by train (Via Rail/Amtrak) or bus (Greyhound, etc.), you will most likely arrive at Pacific Central Station, which is at the corner of Terminal Avenue and Main Street. To travel to UBC by public transit, take the #84 UBC bus (westbound). The stop is located on 2nd Avenue, just outside the Main Street Skytrain station. Total travel time is approximately 25 minutes and costs $2.85 per adult. Bus fares require exact change. To view the bus schedules, click here.
Getting Around Vancouver
Translink — Visit www.translink.ca for questions about Vancouver transit. Google Maps also provides transit times, stops, and routes. Bus fares require exact change.
Car2Go & Zipcar — For those of you who are car-share savvy, Car2Go & Zipcar are two options available in Vancouver.
Cab — You can hail cabs from any street, as you see them. Two taxi companies operating in Vancouver are:
